QUICK FACTS:
FOLLOWING THE PATH LESS TAKEN TO DRIVE HER GROWTH…
A SoCal native and lifelong basketball player, Angela headed further west to Hawaii Pacific for college. She stayed on as an assistant coach before deciding to head home and focus on a different career.
Angela’s first job outside of coaching was in inside sales with the LA Clippers. A tough way to get into the business, Angela struggled to make her first sale for months and finally asked her leader for advice on her style. She embraced feedback and adjusted, and quickly made her first sale, shooting her to the top of the sales leaderboard where she stayed.
After learning the ropes, Angela realized she loved the creativity of group sales and took an opportunity across the country with the Atlanta Hawks where she has spent the past 11 years growing to her current role. “Group sales isn’t about a script,” she explains. “It is about connecting, building relationships and transforming an idea into reality for the client-as big or as small as they would like it, there’s really no limit on the vision.”
On success: “Everyone has a negative talk track, those who succeed learn to quiet self doubt.”
BEYOND THE EVENTS:
An avid traveler, Angela backpacked around Europe, fueling her passion for learning about other people and cultures. She’s passing that love onto her children. After a two week family road trip through Mexico, Angela, her partner and two toddler’s minds are already eyeing their next destinations.
Angela intentionally seeks opportunities that feel uncomfortable and challenge her, not just with the role, but with the life experiences. She credits this drive with getting where she is today, saying, “I recognize that it is within those uncomfortable situations, that I have grown the most…so I am intentional about pushing myself to do them even when there is fear involved.”
