QUICK FACTS:

HONORING THE PAST & INSPIRING THE FUTURE OF WOMEN’S SPORTS:
Amber fell in love with basketball at a very young age. As an aspiring sports journalist, she volunteered at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta where she was center court to watch the U.S. Women’s Basketball team win Gold which led her to an “a-ha” moment that refocused her on the business of sports and events.

Her first role with Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri was a stepping stone that led her to the Phoenix Mercury as the Director of Marketing. She credits Jay Parry, the COO at the time, with taking a chance on her and teaching her so much. Her fondest memories include drafting Brittney Griner and winning two championships with the Mercury, the second one on their home court!

Her time served as the Vice President of Sports for the CT Sun was also memorable as she worked alongside members of the Tribal Council and Council of Elders to tell the incredible story of the inspiring women of the Mohegan Tribe and designing the Nike Rebel jersey together. This uniform was representative and inspired by Gladys Tantaquidgeon, Mohegan’s Medicine Woman who lived to be 106. Her passion for advancing women’s sports has fueled her WNBA journey. She loves mentoring the up-and-coming staff and providing a platform to showcase the players.

BEYOND THE EVENTS:
Amber spends her off time relaxing at home with her wife and dogs. They spend as much time as possible outside and taking full advantage of using their camper trailer.

From her mentors to her current team, she loves the people she works with and stays inspired because of them. She continues to remember her why-creating opportunities, having really good relationships, and working to leave women’s sports in better hands.

She’s excited about the new heights the popularity of women’s sports has reached and is looking forward to teaching the new fans about the exciting history of the WNBA.
